We were contacted by a homeowner who was concerned after noticing their garage floor had heaved to the left and the wall of the garage is leaning outwards. This homeowner also mentioned having issues with the footings. One of our inspectors went out to assess the problem and knew right away what needed to be done! This property was going to need to be lifted and permanently stabilized. To start our crew was going to need remove 288 pounds of concreate from the floor of garage. Once this was complete the job of starting to drill 21 3'' Helical pier, low profile brackets into the ground to bedrock. A helical pier is a type of pier used to permanently stabilize your home. First, soil is removed from around the area the helical pier will be installed. The first pier section section is screwed into the gound using specialized hydraulic equipment. Additional steel sections are then added to extend the pier to the appropriate depths and cepacities, and a steel foundation bracket is connected to the helical piers and attached to your foundations footing. The weight from the home is then transferred through the helical piers onto the competent load-bearing soils deep below the surface. After the house was piered then 260 pounds of Polylevel injections were injected into the foundation to fully stabilize the home. Our crew then replaced the 288 pounds of concreate that they had to remove to begin this job. House Lifted and Stabilized to within an inch of its original position!
