On Wednesday, Des and I decided to take a little roadtrip to go bring our crew some lunch and check out the job. We made it all the way to Hopedale, and located the house when we spotted Craig with an umbrella and the "All Things Basementy" on a truck. Thank goodness for the advertising on the truck.
We got there and met the wonderful customer Paul. The second we stepped into his wonderful house, we saw what a thorough job Paul did preparing for the appointment. He taped cardboard to the floor for our guys to walk on, hung plastic in the doorways, moved everything out of his basement and kitchen, and covered the remaining appliances with plastic. He went above and beyond! Before we got the grand tour of the job, Des and I went to grab some grinders for the guys for lunch, and we all ate standing around the washing machine (we used it as a makeshift table).
Then, Kenny proceeded to walk us through the details of the job. He explained the issues with the sagging structure, and explained what we were seeing in the basement and crawlspace. Next he explained what they were doing to fix the structure, which consisted of installing PowerBrace supports next to the old Lally columns, because the columns weren't holding the house up. Des and I stood on the sidelines as the started working again, and we got to see the process firsthand. IT WAS SO COOL. As soon as each PowerBrace was tightened up, the difference was noticeable. We left before the job was complete, but Paul was already seeing results in his sagging first floor.
I posted some videos on YouTube of some moments on the job. They are located on Emily Leader's channel. Or go like our pages on Facebook and find the videos there! The pages are: Leader Basement Systems; Foundation Supportworks by Leader; Polylevel by Leader.
GREAT JOB KENNY & CREW!
